SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH PFIZER

Employees of Pfizer Israel visited the "Netaim" community center run by CLICK, in order to take part in a workshop on "Social Responsibility". In the workshop, they prepared a variety of handicrafts from reusable materials including dolls, pictures and pillows, which were then donated to the children in the adjoining day care center, operated by the Department of Community Services. The materials for the handicrafts came from the SAVI project, run by Mazal Sabag together with members of Hod Hasharon's golden age community, volunteers and participants with special needs. The SAVI project was recently presented at the first annual conference on "New Sources of Social Welfare Income- Business Entrepreneurs Amongst Non-Profit and Social Organizations". Topics covered in the first study on this topic in Israel (which included data from CLICK) and with the support of "Yad Hanadiv" and "Keren Ford" foundations included: Social projects with a business strategy: Is it possible to decrease dependency on donations? Projects that yield income for NPO: What turns an idea into a profitable venture? Creating a social enterprise: A new frontier for social entrepreneurs? Representatives of CLICK at the conference included Ella Kaufman, advocate and Dr. Linda Mosek, who presented the following challenges: Merging two sectors: Philanthropy and entrepreneurship Acquiring business skills Shifting from NPO management to social business management Shown in the photo, Pfizer employees and members of "Netaim"
