National Volunteer Service Coordinators Visit SAVI

SAVI was visited by a group of 35 coordinators responsible for volunteer services at local branches of the Department of Social Services. Participants from the north, south, east and west of the country visited, with the purpose of receiving ideas about handicraft options for the housebound and volunteers in general. Each member sampled the poking project and it was hard to pull them away at the end of the session. The reaction everyone has to it is quite amazing - they’re totally absorbed! There is no gluing, sewing or skill required and the results are stunning! Photo no.1- Avraham Yivgi worked with Sara and Victor Fonda the founders of SAVI in the 1980's, promoting options for the housebound. Avraham suffers from limited vision, but nothing prevented him from participating in the "hands on" part of the session.
